Susan is a Clinical Lecturer at the School of Dentistry and a Consultant in Dental Public Health at NHS Health Scotland. She trained in dentistry at the University of Glasgow and holds a Masters degree in Public Health, also from Glasgow.
After completing foundation training posts Susan took a Senior House Officer position at Dundee Dental Hospital, rotating through restorative and oral surgery departments. She then spent a number of years in general practice in Glasgow combined with hospital and community sessions in NHS Forth Valley. Prior to her current appointment Susan was a Senior Dental Officer with NHS Tayside providing care for a variety of patient groups and supervising undergraduate students in dental outreach and the department of restorative dentistry.
A fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, Susan attained her Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in 2018 and is registered with the General Dental Council as a specialist in Dental Public Health. She is also currently a PhD student at the university and splits her time between research and teaching.
