We were delighted to welcome visitors from University of Clermont-Ferrand to Dundee Dental School last month.
Whilst Thibault Colloc spent a semester at Dundee Dental School as part of our ERASMUS exchange programme, he was visited by staff from his home school who recieved a tour of Dundee and the Dental School.
Thibault said, “Before coming to Dundee I wasn’t sure if I wanted to work permanently in another country but now I am so eager to keep getting new opportunities and I want to come back and work in Dundee. My future has changed thanks to this exchange programme. I’ve matured a lot more as I’m far from family and I have to go around and socialise, but the benefits are amazing.
“It’s been really good to work in the English language. I’ve really enjoyed the way that Dentistry is taught here. I would highly recommend an exchange to dental students.”
Jennifer Chalmers, Clinical Lecturer in Prosthodontics from the University of Dundee reinforces the benefits, “It is hugely beneficial to be exposed to dentistry in a new setting, within a different healthcare system and meet patients with different health expectations whilst in the early stages of a career.
“It is wonderful that our students have the opportunity to live for a semester in a different area of Europe and learn with this experience. Equally the students we host bring a new energy to their clinical groups and can share their own experiences of dentistry in their home institutions; providing a glimpse of the dental world out with Dundee.”
