Grant McIntyre BDS (Glasg), FDS RCPS (Glasg), MOrth RCS (Edin), PhD (Dund), FDS(Orth) RCPS (Glasg), FDS RCS (Edin), FHEA graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1993 and during a range of general dental practice and junior hospital posts in North-West England and the West of Scotland, undertook the FDS diploma at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. During specialty training in Tayside, he completed the MOrth diploma at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and simultaneously undertook a PhD at the University of Dundee. After completing post-CCST training in the West of Scotland he was awarded the FDS(Orth) diploma by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.

Grant McIntyre has been an NHS Consultant in Tayside since 2003 working between Dundee Dental Hospital, Perth Royal Infirmary and Ninewells Hospital. More recently, he was awarded the FDS diploma by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. His clinical work involves the Orthodontic management of dentofacial deformity, cleft lip & palate, hypodontia, impacted teeth, as well as the management of routine and severe malocclusions. His non-clinical time is devoted to a range of activities including undergraduate/postgraduate teaching and training, research and audit, appraisal, and examining on behalf of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh at home and abroad.
